by: POWDER MAGAZINE
MSP is putting out their 20th film this year. To celebrate, we’re featuring a clip from an old movie every week, starting from the beginning. This week, in 1997′s “Pura Vida,” Brant Moles breaks down barriers in Valdez, utilizing some of the first commercially viable fat skis (Rossignol 10.5s) to demonstrate the new era of big fast turns on wide-open Alaskan faces. Check it out, and come back every Thursday as we count down to 20.

Rossignol 11.5′s. His skis go up to 11.
the line at 2:20 is sick
15 yrs ago……wow, like yesterday…..
If anyone cares, the skis he is on are the Rossignol cut 11.5. 115mm tip, 85mm waist. They came out right before the first Rossi XXX which had a black, red and white topsheet, with the same dimensions. Also, note the square tip. The XXX’s had a more traditional tip. At the time they were a welcome improvement, unless you had some Atomic powder plus’ (115mm underfoot).
Well, who remembers Graffix? Or use the products?
