Ya Dakota Bowl they should call it core shot traverse bowl but I suppose its about as lame as the Dakotas so that works. And the rest of the tram just the same constant no terrrain pitch you would be better off skiing on one of those indoor conveyor belts atleast then the angle of the pitch could be changed to simulate terrain. O and if you only ride groomers you are probably at the right mountain its full of lame ass flat ass groomers that you are forced to ski to get to the village after you are sick of waiting in the tram line.

That is the first time I’ve ever heard Big Sky described as “Flat ass groomers” Did you ever venture beyond the Explorer lift? Probably not.

Yes, you will hit rocks, if your mostly concerned with keeping your ski’s looking pretty, go somewhere else. 61% of big sky is black, double black, or expert terrain. Not only is it the largest skiing in America, but it is statistically the steepest resort in the country.

      your a moron

Wo I can see why you defend it. You must be either one of the glorified big sky marketers that put this stupid unofficail add together or you moved into big sky from the midwest somewhere and you never leave its easy to think this place is so great when its the only place you ski. Statistics dont fool me you can call it black double or expert but come on its all the same constant pitch with no variations in terrain. Its great if all you want to do is make the exact same “slash mcpow” turn all day and have nothing get in your way. I bet if you add up the slope angle of each acre within the boundary and average it its one of the flatest in the country. Lets be honest Big Sky locals statistically ski big sky 99% of the time how would you know any better if you dont get out.

BIG FLAT, your posts are amusing to say the least….As a squaw local I know what rad terrain is and I happened to ski at the moonlight comp last year and the Headwaters are the real deal as well as the A-Z chutes and everything off of the Lone Peak Tram…I will be going back this year as I happen to think the skiing there is real….

Hmmmmmmm Big Fat; you sound like some “bro” from the Midwest inner city whose home mountain is a bulldozed up garbage dump (Not dissin the Midwest, that’s my home turf, wouldn’t change it for anything) OR some poser from Denver that thinks that there shit dont stink and there the “raddest” skier on the mountain (AND not dissin Denver, totally a way cool city) .

Where exactly do you call your “Home mountain” that apparently is far superior to some of the sick lines that are to be had at Big Sky?

Ha its pretty obvious Im not from the Midwest or Denver and each comment you guys are leaving just proves my point that your are all from the mid west and dont ever ski anywhere but big sky. You probably just sit at the picnic tables at the bottom and smoke cigs and drink tall boys in your full face and talk about how epic the recycled pow in the dick-taters was but you know you just made the same lame ass turns the whole way down. Why dont you losers grow some balls and ski some real terrain like I hear they have at Bridger.

Only 14 people in that “Cable Car”????

How long does the line get? Judging from the view out the window at 1:19 it must be worth it.

It gets long on pow days but when you get up there you have 800 acres of extreme skiing all to yourself and 14 other people… and when the line is too long there is plenty of other extreme terrain that doesn’t require riding the tram (A-Z, Headwaters)… even on pow days the other lift lines are very rarely longer than 5-10 minutes… my opinion might be biased since it’s my home mountain but it’s one of my favorite places in the lower 48… and to Big Flat please keep skiing Vail or wherever you’re from and don’t come here anymore

I’m very surprised by how many people are backing Big Sky on a Friday night. The scummy “locals” must have scared both the girls at the Black Bear back to Bozeman. Good start to another jaded winter that snows way more at Bridger.

Ooo so now we know why you’re hating. Obviously you didn’t have a very fun Friday night if you had nothing better to do that hate on Big Sky. Can someone help me with this question? If Bridger is “so much better” why do so many Bridger passholders get up and leave Bozeman at the crack of dawn to drive an hour down the canyon and pay 80 some dollars for a day ticket every weekend? If you hate Big Sky why not save the time and money and misery and just stay at Bridger? I personally don’t care if anyone from Bridger wants to come and subsidize my pass with day tickets, I just don’t understand why THEY want to, unless it’s because they secretly think Big Sky is better or just to be annoying and tell anyone pretending to listen about how much better Bridger is. And one more thing. Your Bridger pass does no good at Big Sky so please put it in your pocket. It doesn’t make you special. Just to clarify, I enjoy the Ridge terrain at Bridger just as much as any “local” and I never go around shouting about my home mountain to anyone wanting to listen when I’m there. I just enjoy the skiing.

Big Sky is rad and anyone that hates on it like “big Flat” ^ must be one of those “east coasters” that defines his level of radness by wearing a marmot jacket and growing a lame ass beard! Big Fagg I mean Flat probably can’t ride for shit and most likely rocks a one-z on any day but gaper day. That being said Big Sky is epic you just have to get off the beaten path! Not to mention they have around thirty smoke shacks and they even sell a “shack map” in their store. So suck my balls Big Flat.

Nope sorry not from the east coast but big sky does have an east infection, but I would wear a one piece any day I was at big sky cause every day is gaper day there. Plus you just further helped prove my point with your smoke shack comment. Any mountain with a smoke shack trail map is definitely compensating for the lack of real runs. But I can see why any time I ski there I have to be stoned all day or I’m bored as hell.

how does bridger compare to the tram? the tram is around 800 acres of nothing but steep ridges and couliers… the ridge is probably closer to 300 acres. so thats more steep skiing, and don’t act like the snow is that much better. it can rain at bridger, and hardly ever does at big sky

Big Sky is big. It’s that simple. If you visit for three days, you could spend all your time on flat groomers just traversing to the next lift. It’s BIG. However, hang out for a week, or with some locals, and you’ll find plenty of terrain to curl your toes. A couple of years back I skied 47 days, and skied 14 groomed runs. That”s it, 14 times on groomers and the rest of the season was off piste.
Another advantage of BIG, is that you can find good skiing in any weather. Ice here? Ski over there. Windy blown slab here? Ski the South side. Big has far more advantages than you can believe.
