What’s up with this winter? Drips and drabs kept the skiing respectable throughout the winter here in Stowe. Finally, the last weekend of February we get hammered with 2+ feet of goodness. Skiers rejoice, lines are ticked off and deepness ensues.
Then the unthinkable occurs. 75 and sunny for more than a week. Snowpack goes from about 5″ above average to 25″ below average in less than 14 days. Seriously?
Well, don’t hang up the board just yet because VT is back in the flow. In the past couple of days, snow has been accumulating along the spine of the Green Mountains and according to the weather prognosticators it won’t be stopping until Thursday. The snow line has been flirting with base elevations throughout the day, but up top, it continues to nuke!

The bull wheels at Killington and Jay Peak continue to spin…
Let’s see, snow for three days straight, then sunshine and cool overnight temps on Friday and Saturday? Any way you slice it, its either pow or corn. Tough decisions for sure, but definitely worth the rally!!
