2 skiers are confirmed dead and 2 are assumed to have passed away after being struck by an avalanche on Friday near the Swiss ski area of Vallon d’Arbi.

The New Straits Times is reporting that authorities have already recovered 2 bodies that were buried under roughly 20 feet of avalanche debris. The two remaining members of the party remain missing.

The deceased individuals are both Frenchman in their 20’s. The missing persons include an older Swiss man (57) and another Frenchman (32). Snow and turbulent weather continues to impede search efforts but the recovery effort is still underway.
