In an unexpectedly turbulent slalom appearance, Mikaela Shiffrin finished 4th– a finish she’ll have to put in the rear view as she continues her quest for olympic dominance.

The nervy start included a vomiting spell by Shiffrin, who would ultimately finish 4th after a securing 2nd place spot during her first run. The second run wasn’t as successful as she’d hoped and she missed the podium just a day after winning gold in the GS. She told reporters that the vomiting might have been caused by a “virus.”

She’ll compete again this coming week in the downhill and combined. Shiffrin will skip the Super-G.
