“Intel’s Vaunt smart glasses won’t make you look like a Glasshole.”

There have been attempts at incorporating AR technology into ski goggles before, most notably Ride On and Oakley’s Airwaves (which both feature heads up displays) but Intel’s new Vaunt smart glasses technology might just be sleek and clever enough for widespread adoption in the ski industry. There’s an excellent article about the Vaunts published by The Verge . Here’s an excerpt:

”We wanted to make sure somebody puts this on and gets value without any of the negative impact of technology on their head. Everything from the ground up is designed to make the technology disappear.”

There’s a million reasons why you would want to silence all smartphone notifications while skiing but the reality is we all use our phones on the mountain and incorporating a heads up display into ski goggles in conjunction with voice commands could actually cut down on the time we concentrate on our devices by virtue of never having to pull out your phone.  So while it may seem invasive, it could potentially be liberating? Thoughts?
