Jay Peak is off to a banger start with 100% of the mountain open before Christmas. The northern Vermont ski area has 79 of 79 ski runs open thanks to 124″ of snow on the season.

JAY PEAK WEATHER REPORT

10:00 AM UPDATE: We are officially 100% open with the addition of St. Georges prayer and The Face. Enjoy.

Things up here are much better than they could have been. A few wet-packed inches have fallen since early this morning, and the “wintry mix” is definitely beginning to lean more towards snow. Grooming didn’t see too much frozen rain AND we have a great forecast to look forward to; almost a foot of new snow could land on our slopes between now and Christmas day.

Terrain Park, Snowmaking, Lift, and Grooming crews have been putting in round-the-clock hours to bring us to this morning. The Interstate is set to make its debut for the season, and with it, will come an entirely new design from our lead park builder. Snowmaking pulled off the Northway after doing a multiple day run, and our Groomers got in overnight to get it prepped for today.

If all that wasn’t enough to sway you, we’ll have 79 of 79 trails open AND the Bonaventure Quad opens for the season today at 8:30 AM. The Aerial Tram, Green Mountain Flyer, and Jet Triple are also scheduled for an 8:30 AM start. For beginner and intermediate terrain, the Taxi Quad, Metro Quad and Stateside Carpet are slated for an 8:00 AM start. Last chair for all lifts is at 4:00 PM.

Our Nordic Center, which operates from the bottom floor of the Clubhouse on Tramside, is now open to the public. Fat-biking will be joining the lineup soon, and snowshoe tours begin today.
