A 60 year-old man died on Wednesday after falling approximately 25-30′ from the top of a cliff at Big White Resort reports Lake Country Calendar.

According to the article, the man ducked a rope in the Telus Park area and skied into a closed area before falling off the cliff. The victim appears to have landed headfirst in the deep snow.

An instructor alerted ski patrol after seeing the man enter the closed area. Ski patrol and a member of lift ops would find the man shortly after in the deep snow below the rock.

Ski patrol along with the lift operator responded to the scene and performed CPR but were unable to revive the 60 year-old. The victim’s identity remains undisclosed.

*Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s friends and family.
