Mt Rose Ski Tahoe will remain a family owned operation for the forseable future with Fritz Buser confirming the move to transfer the property to his offspring reports the Reno Gazette Journal.

While many speculated that the resort would end up in the hands of the likes of KSL/Aspen or Vail, the resort’s owner decided to hand over Mt Rose to the future Buser generations.

Surely there were some skiers bummed at the lost prospect of a vast multi-resort pass but most Mt Rose locals were delighted to see the future of Mt Rose secure. The general manager will continue to be Paul Smeft, who was hired back in 1992.
