If you’re hurting for Turkey Day plans, Mammoth Mountain is hosting one of its best early seasons in history after a storm last week dumped upwards of 6 FEET of snow on the ski area’s summit.

Since that epic storm, the resort has 70 runs open and 12 lifts, which adds up to the most terrain currently available in the United States. What’s almost better than all that open terrain is the forecast.

“Chairs 13 & 14 will also operate this holiday weekend allowing access to more terrain. Unbound will get Forest Trail open tomorrow, with intermediate and beginner freestyle features available.”

As of this morning, NOAA has a ridiculously California outlook for Turkey Day @Mammoth with temps rising into the 50’s accompanied with abundant sunshine. And while we always prefer pow over bluebird groomer days, it sure beats getting the rain the PNW is forecasted to receive over the next 2 days.

Details:

  • 70 Open Runs (*most in the country) and more set to open for the weekend
  • 12 Open Lifts (*most in the country) and more set to open for the weekend
  • Top-to-bottom skiing and riding
  •  Current Base depth of 20-60″ = 3rd Deepest Snowpack in North America
