The search for two missing snowboarders in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest has been suspended indefinitely due to avalanche conditions.

Jake Amancio, 22, and Drew Lenz, 20, of Bellingham, WA, have been missing since Sunday, November 12. The two riders were last seen snowboarding just outside of Mt. Baker Ski Area.

Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Jilk said, “When snow conditions and the weather improves, we will try to get back into some steeper areas we have not been in yet. However, that could be a week or more out.”

Jake and Drew were reported missing Sunday evening by their roommate after they failed to return.

A GoFundMe has been set-up by the family of the missing boys to help recoup costs associated with the rescue. See the full GoFundMe page here.
