Not only is one of Austria’s premiere ski areas already open for business but they’re serving up pow turns and it’s only November 7th!

According to their website, Stubaier Gletscher is reporting 100cm (39″) of fresh snow from the latest storm, bringing their summit base depth to 170cm (67″). Needless to say, that depth is staggering considering we’re not even halfway through November.

“Due to the heavy snowfall in the past 24 hours and the associated high risk of avalanches, slopes 20, 21 and 10 have to remain closed today.”Stubaier Gletscher Facebook Page

With all that fresh snow, the avalanche risk is currently marked as considerable and skiers venturing off-piste are being urged to employ conservative route finding when venturing into avalanche-prone terrain.

*Stay safe out there!
