NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the greater Tahoe Area. Snow accumulation could be as high as 3 feet above 7000′ with 4-6″ at lake level. The winter storm watch will be in effect from Friday evening through late Saturday night.

A Winter Storm is forecast to move into northern California and northwest Nevada starting Friday, with snow impacting travel in
the Sierra Friday night, Saturday, and into Sunday. Windy conditions and periods of rain and snow are expected for western
Nevada.

THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT…
* WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
especially over passes. Damage to trees and power lines is
possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with 1 to
3 feet above 7000 to 7500 feet, are possible. Totals at Lake
Tahoe level may range from 1 to 3 inches up to 8 inches
depending on how quickly snow levels fall.
