The ski season is underway in both Europe and North America as Kaunertal Glacier (Austria) joined its fellow Alps residents Stubai and Solden by opening its slopes to skiing and riding this past weekend.

The Austrian, glacier-based ski area served up a beautiful terrain park for October and skiers and riders from across the alps came to enjoy some slushy jump lines on glaciated snow that’s seen more than its fair share of melt/freeze cycles this summer.

It bears repeating– the park was really sick. According to the resorts website, the glacier currently is hosting a 24″ deep base (60cm) with 3/9 lifts operating.
