Deven Stratton, who accidentally sent a 161 foot cliff and survived, shares his story of that it was like to send a 161 foot cliff.

“In January 2017, I was backcountry skiing down the back side of Mt. Timpanogos in Utah when I decided to follow a previous skier’s tracks in the snow powder, away from the main run. I then noticed a jump up ahead, and quickly decided to take it, AND… that jump turned out to be on the edge of a massive 152′ cliff!

I swear the fall felt like it lasted for 5 minutes, and death seemed certain as I landed flat on my back several yards away from the base of the mountain. Miraculously, I walked away with only some broken gear and and a cracked helmet. (I think I was more upset that I lost one of my skis that took several hours to find!) My ribs initially hurt a bit, but luckily I ended up with no broken bones or bruises!

Yes, my GoPro camera caught all of the footage, which was then featured on pretty much every news station, newspaper, and sports channel out there!

My younger sister Rachel passed away from brain cancer in Aug 2015. No doubt Rachel was my guardian angel watching over me during this accident! You can read more about Rachel and her amazingly courageous journey against cancer on her blog HERE: http://www.prayersforrachel.com

If you thought this video was as miraculous, please feel free to share it! I am definitely lucky (and blessed) to still be alive! This mishap hasn’t stopped me to pursuing more adventure, however I do think twice now before doing anything stupid and try to be ultra aware of my surroundings!

Be sure to SUBSCRIBE as I document more of my adventures with future videos on this channel! I promise you will not be disappointed!”
