“Hurricane prediction isn’t an exact science, it’s more of a team sport.”

We have all been glued to Hurricane Irma updates over the last couple of days, praying for those effected and listening to expert opinions on how the storm will track and if it will intensify but sometimes it takes a figure like Irma being twice the size of Colorado for mountain people to wrap their heads around the magnitude of a meteorological event of this proportion. The eye itself has been about 25 to 35 miles wide the past couple of days, which is roughly the size of the Denver metro area.  Much appreciation to the scientist at CSU for their valuable contributions to the field.
