‘This is the best round of my life’ | Photo: Beacon Rock Golf Course

According to OregonLive.com, a bunch of golfers went for an evening round near dusk on Monday when a fire of epic proportions began running down the opposite hill. Pictured are the golfers finishing up on the final hole before calling it a day at a Washington state golf course.

However, the apparent danger portrayed by the photograph is deceiving. The golf course, Beacon Rock, is protected by the Columbia River and the people pictured we’re never in danger thanks to nature’s ultimate fire block– a massive body of water.

The fire pictured is the Eagle Creek Fire and it should be noted that the blaze was “human caused.” Info on the fire can be found here and here.

“View from the Clubhouse. Viewing the magnitude of the fire and thinking of how many people will be affected and for a long time. So thankful no lives lost.” | Photo: Beacon Rock Golf Course
