This past winter Mickey Wilson, an otherwise humble slackliner, was catapulted into the limelight after making a harrowing rescue at Arapahoe Basin that would have likely ended in death had he not been there.

Turns out, the slack liner stayed true to his roots throughout the fame and has since gotten married to his longtime girlfriend and fiance, Purple McMullen-Laird in epic fashion. And now they’re headed on a Hawaii honeymoon paid for by Ellen Degeneres.

The two recently tied the knot atop a span of netting known in the slackline community as a space netin the Fruit Bowl near Canyonlands National Park in Utah. After walking out into the expanse, the two said their vows before dropping through a hole in the middle and enjoying a massive rope swing to start their life’s journey together.

Wilson became famous overnight after saving a newfound friend from certain death as he hung from a chairlift by his backpack. The backpack cut off the victim’s ability to breath but luckily the professional slackliner was able to shimmy across the lift cable before cutting him free.

*Congrats to Mickey and Purple on their big next step. Have fun in Hawaii!
