Tina Dorschel was on an early morning nature walk in the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary when out of nowhere came a Florida panther!
The Florida panther, Florida’s official state animal, is an endangered subspecies of cougar. They live in forests and swamps of southern Florida where males can weigh up to 160 pounds (73 kg). As of 2013, the entire population of wild Florida panthers was just 160 making this a very rare sighting indeed.
