UPDATE: Read a full update to the post here.

A shocking video has emerged of an avalanche that occurred on Lenin Peak on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Few details are known at this time about the outcome of the group that was struck by the avalanche.

Reports are sketchy at this time. The fait of the climbers in the video is unclear.  Two climbers, a Russian and an Iranian, have been killed this season on Lenin Peak, the second-highest point of both Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, but it is unknown if either man was involved in this avalanche.

Alta Montanha spoke to climber Tatiana Batalha, who is on Lenin Peak, about the video. She said that she knew nothing of the video or avalanche and that the guides at Peak Lenin did not know much about it either.
