“I had no where to go, I was in the middle of a snowfield. Nothing to defend myself with and he was just solid muscle.”

They may look cute at a distance but if a mountain goat face to face goes sideways, they would make a formidable foe for a mountain side battle. This wild mountain goat encounter happened on Mt. Timpanogos in Utah when a runner clossed paths during a sunrise run in the mountains. Thankfully Kevin Slider did the right thing by using his voice to ward off the goat.

Central Utah Specialist Sam Penrod had some sage advice: “Everybody wants to get that photo for Facebook or Instagram, but bottom line get a bigger lens and give the wild life their distance.
