Video from CBS Denver

Looks like these campers don’t take kindly to drone filming but also don’t quite have enough arm to knock one out of the sky with a rock (or to peg a reporter trying to do a story on them).

Denver park rangers are doing their best to handle the situation respectfully as the homeless population of the city have taken up stake along the north fork of the South Platte River. In an area mostly accessed by bike path and frequented by locals looking for a bit of serenity among an urban setting, camping is not permitted.

If a ranger spots a tent, he politely informs the occupant that it is not allowed and asks them to move along. If the tent is unoccupied, it is disassembled after a 24 hour grace period.  Rangers say the problem is growing.
