A press release issued this afternoon announced the resort just west of Bend benefitted from enough late season snowfall to run lifts on independence day this year for the 9th time in the resort’s 58 year-long history. General Manager and Mt Bachelor president, John McLeod indicated he’s beyond stoked to bring back July 4th skiing saying, “With so much snow this winter, we can’t pass up the opportunity to bring back this tradition.” The base depth is currently at a whopping 157″

“Many of our long-time guests remember skiing in July at Mt. Bachelor in the past, and with so much snow this winter, we can’t pass up the amazing opportunity to ski the Summit on the 4th of July this year. Stay tuned for more details!”

The Sunrise and Summit lifts will run from 8am-1pm for what resort officials have termed, JulySki. Mt Bachelor is currently scheduled to close on May 28th and will remained closed until the July 4th holiday.
