Val d’Isère recently announced that it will be revamping its base area with the addition of over 300 beds as well as a ski slope through the base area, allowing for ski-in, ski-out accommodations. The project is titled, Le Coin De Val (*translation– “The Corner of the Valley”).

“The new buildings will recreate the non-systematic design of old alpine villages, with large constructions being avoided”

The project will tackle traffic solutions, provide new commercial space, and includes the construction of a symbolic tower, “La Tour du Val,”  to mark the resort’s prominence as one of the best ski areas in the alps. Developers are planning on using traditional materials coupled with environmentally sustainable building practices to create a one of a kind mountain community in the alps.
