A twelve-year-old was pronounced dead on Sunday after crashing into a tree stump at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Saturday afternoon reports The Summit Daily.

Logan Goodwin of Hermosa Beach, California was skiing near Upper Springmeier when the collision occurred. Ski patrol alerted local authorities at approximately 2:15pm on Saturday before Flight For Life was called in to transport the young man to the Children’s Hospital Colorado in the Denver suburb of Aurora.

The victim was pronounced dead on Sunday morning and a subsequent coroner’s report indicated that Goodwin died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen. The death marks the 13th ski-related fatality this year in Colorado.

*Our deepest condolences go out to Logan’s friends and family.
