The quest to keep winter rolling continues for Ullr, who recently decided to deliver another upslope storm to the front range and southwestern Colorado ski areas. And while the central and northern mountains will also see snowfall, it won’t likely be as heavy as their eastern and southern neighbors.

Eldora, Telluride, Loveland, Winter Park, and Silverton should all walk away with some pretty big snowfall totals. If Loveland Pass closes, Summit locals will be treated to a good one @ArapahoeBasin. Other areas will see snow (Vail, Crested Butte, and Aspen) but the snow event won’t be nearly as significant.

Winter Weather Advisory [Front Range + Central]
A winter storm will slowly move across Colorado today and tonight bringing snowfall heavy at times to the Front Range mountains and foothills, and light to moderate rainfall to the plains of northeast Colorado. Heaviest snowfall is expected to occur in the foothills west and southwest of Denver and over higher elevations of the Palmer Divide in Douglas County where up to a foot of snow could pile up by Wednesday morning. Foothill areas north of Interstate 70 and east facing slopes of the Front Range mountains could receive anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of snow. Snowfall is expected to be heaviest this evening, and then diminish Wednesday morning with the storm system moving away from Colorado.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT Wednesday.
* TIMING…Snowfall will develop today and continue tonight, and then diminish Wednesday morning.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…4 to 9 inches, with the heavier snow amounts on east facing slopes.
* WIND/VISIBILITY…Periods of heavy snowfall and north winds to 25 mph will reduce visibilities to less than a half mile at times.
* IMPACTS…Roads will become slushy or snowpacked during the period of heaviest snow tonight.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT WEDNESDAY ABOVE 9000 FEET…
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE…Telluride, Silverton, and Rico.
* TIMING…Snow will continue through late Wednesday morning, though there will be lulls along with the moderate to heavy snow at times.
* SNOW ACCUMULATION…An additional 4 to 6 inches of new snow bringing total snowfall of 8 to 14 inches, mainly above 9000 feet with lesser amounts below. Locally higher amounts above 10,000 feet.
* SNOW LEVEL…Snow levels will rise to near 8500 feet during the day, then lower below mountain bases tonight.
* WINDS…North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* VISIBILITY…Lowering to less than 1/2 mile at times in heavier snow showers.
* IMPACTS…High elevation roadways will be slick and snowpacked, especially US-550 over Molas Pass and Red Mountain Pass as well as Lizard Head Pass on Hwy 145. In addition, snow and areas of blowing snow will reduce visibility.
