While the lower elevation resorts in Colorado continue to melt under high temps, Arapahoe Basin is one of the few resorts hosting mid winter conditions through the end of March.

With its high elevation, Arapahoe Basin has seen cold snow accumulate on its upper flanks this past week with eastern aspects being particularly favored. Yesterday was proof positive of that fact as skiers laced beautiful lines in deep snow all across the East Wall. “Willie’s Ladder” and the “North Pole” hike-to’s were packed yet everyone seemed to make space for one another. The lower flanks on Pali were good but a bottom was definitely still there.

As Colorado snow forecasters like Chris Tomer expect more “hook” storms in the coming week, look for Arapahoe Basin and Loveland to benefit from their respective elevations as well as their front range positioning.
