Great new for all us winter enthusiasts, Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow this morning and saw his shadow, effectively locking in 6 more weeks of winter!
This makes it the 131st time Phil has made his now famous prediction. The Western Pennsylvania tradition, celebrated since 1886, is thought to be rooted in Candlemas, an ancient European feast day celebrated midway between the winter solstice and spring equinox.
“I said gophers not golfers.”
