screen-shot-2017-02-12-at-10-22-51-amA 19 year old male snowboarder has been missing since Saturday afternoon after getting separated from his group. Mt Hood Ski Patrol was contacted by the group who had gone out of bounds from the Timberline Ski area as reported kgw.com.

The missing snowboarder went ahead of his group during a hike and when the group returned to the resort, he was left behind. The tracks of the missing snowboarder led into Little Zigzag Canyon, an area where people commonly get lost.

The lost snowboarder is reportedly experienced but under equipped for the backcountry. Its been reported he only had some water and beer with him and no supplies to stay overnight. The missing snowboarder also doesn’t have a cellphone, GPS, or beacon. He was last seen wearing a grey and black helmet, camo sweatshirt and dark pants.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is leading the effort to find him. Searchers from Mt. Hood Ski Patrol, Mountain Wave Communications and Portland Mountain Rescue are also looking.screen-shot-2017-02-12-at-10-24-33-am
