Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is CLOSED after 17“power poles” were knocked down by 100+ mph winds and heavy snowfall last night.
So far, JHMR officials have canceled all mountain related events this week and weekend, which includes their famous skijoring competition along with a Special Olympics event. The Special Olympics were originally slated to conclude on Thursday.
“This power outage is being addressed by Lower Valley Energy, but the significance of this damage will be impacting Teton Village for up to seven days.” – Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
In the meantime, visitors can expect refunds but as of now, there is no physical location to process those refunds. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Central Reservations will be helping to assist JHMR guests and village visitors book alternative travel plans and lodging accommodations.
Although it’s not certain as to when the mountain will reopen; when it does– Corbet’s Couloir will be in the best shape it been in since 1966. In other news, Teton Pass remains closed as well but Snow King Mountain is currently spinning lifts.
