Mammoth Mountain’s McCoy Station webcam caught images this morning of a controlled avalanche triggered by ski patrol. From the images you can see the avalanche heading down the slope under Chair 23. The terrain was closed to skiers and riders for avalanche control work during the time of the slide so no one was in danger.
Mammoth has received over a foot of new snow the last few days with more on the way early next week. This follows their snowiest month on record.
