Included in their permit, Alpenglow Expeditions will be allowed guided access to “The Munchkins” near Alpine Meadows and “Tram Ridge” just north of Broken Arrow. Guided trips will begin this year and includes 1,045 acres of skiable terrain.

“The professional guides at Alpenglow Expeditions are intimately familiar with the backcountry ski terrain in Lake Tahoe and we are tremendously excited to provide access to some of the best lift accessed backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the Western United States.” – Andy Wirth, CEO Squaw Valley (*Quote courtesy of The Sierra Sun)

In addition to the unprecedented access granted, Alpenglow Expeditions owner, Adrian Ballinger hopes the new program will also raise mainstream awareness for backcountry safety and education. With the help of Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Ballinger plans to donate $2,500 to the Sierra Avalanche Center.
