Shaun White returned to the X Games Aspen 2017 with hopes of regaining his reign as the world’s top halfpipe snowboarder.

White, who turned 30-years-old in 2016, landed second to last after crashing on both of his two runs in the Real Cost Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe final. It was White’s worst finish since his rookie year in 2000.

Australian snowboarder Scotty James, took his first X Games gold, scoring a 90.00 on the first run of the contest that stood as the best run of the night by a full 10 points.
