The Colorado Department of Transportation is planning to debut a new bus route to help alleviate highway congestion on the I70 Corridor caused by front ranger skiers flocking to the mountains in their cars.
“The more cars we can take off the I-70 corridor, the better. If we’re able to accomplish that, we’ll consider that a success.” -CDOT Spokesman Bob Wilson
The SnowStang Bus will offer routes to six different resorts: Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Beaver Creek Resort, Breckenridge Ski Resort, Keystone Resort, Vail Ski Resort and Winter Park Resort as reported by The Gazette.
The busses will depart from the RTD Park-n-Ride at the Federal Center in Lakewood and tickets will be around $45-$60. The pilot program will only be offered on two days this year (Feb. 11 and 24) but if it is a success CDOT will consider expanding the service next year.
