A skier is undergoing medical procedures to address a crash caused by a snowboarder who fled the scene after realizing the severity of the injury reports Fox 31 Denver.

The skier has since been identified as Jenny Elma and her boyfriend, Stu Press told Fox 31 Denver that the injury in question requires a surgical procedure that will place 13 metal screws in the victim’s leg. The Ski Safety Act dictates that anyone involved in an accident including injuries must stay at the scene and give a report to Ski Patrol or other resort officials.
