Stowe, Vermont is off to a solid start to the season with the latest storm dropping nearly two feet of snow on Mt Mansfield. The resort currently has 27 trails open with base depths ranging form16″ – 32″.

Official Report: “Skies are now cloudy here at the mountain and we received an additional 1-2” of new snow overnight, with 4-6” falling in the last 24 hours. That brings us to a storm total of 22” on the upper mountain since the snow started falling on Thursday night! The skiing and riding is excellent today, with packed powder & powder conditions.

Thanks to all that recent snowfall, as well as the hard work of our snowmakers, we are excited to announce the Mansfield Gondola has made its seasonal debut this morning. Perry Merrill is open and groomed, though there is snowmaking in progress on portions of that run.

Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of flurries in the morning, followed by partly sunny skies in the afternoon. High temperatures will range from near 20 degrees at the summit, to near 30 degrees in the base. Winds are expected to be between 15-30mph at the summit.

Last night our groomers laid down fresh corduroy on 19 trails, including the Fifth Avenue Rail Garden which has a total of 5 freestyle features.

Please Note– While we are expanding our open terrain, there are many trails that are not ready to be opened for the season. Skiing or riding closed terrain is hazardous to both yourself and to Ski Patrol who may have to come rescue you. Please stay on open trails.

Last night our snowmaking team had the snow guns running on portions of Gondolier, Perry Merrill, Competition Hill, Upper Hayride, Easy Street, Catwalk & Upper Meadows. We do plan to continue making snow in those same areas during the day today.
