Due to lack of evidence, the Teton County Sheriff’s Department is ending their investigation as to who triggered an avalanche that left one motorist literally swimming for his life on Teton Pass reports Planet JH.

Sheriff’s deputies indicated that they had interviewed several skiers who were on the pass at the time of the avalanche but were unable to nail down the actual cause of the avalanche, which occurred on the popular backcountry ski route off the Hwy 22 known as Twin Slides.”

The incident has raised concerns amongst community members, transportation officials, and law enforcement individuals alike who all fear for the safety of the large commuting population that travels between Idaho’s Teton Valley and Jackson Hole, WY each day for work.
