In less than a week, two New York men have died while skiing at Killington Ski Resort.
On Saturday afternoon, William P. Cusano, 65, was found dead on an intermediate trail at Killington. According to State Police, there was no indication that Cusano had been involved in a crash while skiing and his death appears to have been a natural event.
Cusano was known to be an experienced skier, police said.
Then just yesterday Walter E. Gorgas, 80, collapsed while skiing down the Header trail. He was brought to the Rutland Regional Medical Center by ambulance and was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m., Vermont State Police said.
“There was no indication that Gorgas had collided with any skiers and/or objects,” Police officials said.
Like Cusano, the death appears to be from natural causes.
