NOAA Lake Tahoe Update

NOAA is reporting that Lake Tahoe gained 8,690,131,707 gallons of water in just 2 days last week! To put that in some prospective, the latest storm put enough water into Lake Tahoe to fill 13,158 Olympic size simming pools.

The lake is now just 0.36 inches below its natural rim. Later this week, Tahoe is will recive yet another very rainy storm that could put the lake above its natural rim.

“Lake Tahoe and other reservoirs gained an incredible amount of water from the storm that moved through December 9th and 10th. Check out those numbers! It is unusual for Lake Tahoe to be nearing its natural rim during December.” – NOAA, today
