With up to 50mph winds and over a foot of snow forecasted in places, Tahoe residents are bracing for another storm that should help open more terrain.
Of those areas, the higher elevations just west and south of Lake Tahoe could see accumulations of up to 18″ in localized areas. Kirkwood is forecasted to receive upwards of 14″ while Boreal should see just under a foot of new snow.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HANFORD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM SATURDAY TO 4 PM PST SUNDAY.
* TIMING…SNOW SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD AND INTENSE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING GRADUALLY TAPERING OFF SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* MAIN IMPACT…6 TO 14 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED ABOVE 5000 FEET WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO 18 INCHES ABOVE 8000 FEET. SNOW LEVELS WILL GRADUALLY LOWER TO AROUND 4500 FEET BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* OTHER IMPACTS…POSSIBLE TRAVEL DELAYS AND CHAIN CONTROLS AND BLOWING SNOW WITH RESTRICTED VISIBILITY MAKING TRAVEL DIFFICULT.
