While Colorado grabs national headlines, Tahoe has stayed under the radar, racking up early season snowfall totals and Thanksgiving weekend is looking especially good for Sugar Bowl.
The north Lake Tahoe ski area is currently reporting 26″ of new snow out of the storm and we’re only getting started as a winter weather advisory will go into effect tomorrow afternoon.

In the meantime our top three choices for powder chasing over the Thanksgiving weekend are Mt Rose, Boreal, and Squaw. Sugar Bowl has yet to announce an openig day but we wouldn’t be surprised if they announced a Thanksgiving opening the coming hours.
