The recording of the 911 call made by a grandmother who was attacked by a bear in Maryland was made public yesterday. Karen E. Osborne, 63, was attack Wednesday night after she unknowingly got between a mother bear and her cubs.

Osborne is herd telling the dispatcher during the frantic call to 911, “I can’t move and I’m bleeding and I’m gonna die.”

 

Osborne was attacked as she walked down the driveway of her daughter’s house and unknowingly came between a mother black bear and her three cubs, according to WTOP.

 

Osborne suffered a broken arm, cuts to her head and puncture wounds to her arms, and needed more than 80 stitches. She is expected to recover.

This was the first bear attack in Maryland since 1935.
