A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Cascades above 3,000′ until 6pm reports by KOIN5. At Stevens Pass, a foot of snow has already fallen as of Wednesday morning and an additional 2”-5” at pass level and 5”-8” at resort level are expected today.

The area will remain dry Thursday through Friday with rain returning for the weekend. Snow levels will be at 5-6,000ft, so the resorts may see some accumulation. It is the first significant snowfall of the season for the Cascades, so if you are driving in the snow for the first time in a while remember that slow and steady wins the race.
