It’s been a pretty slow start to the 2016 -2017 ski season with no a whole lot of snow around but despite this 5 ski areas will be open for skiing and riding this weekend.

“We’ll have mild temperatures to kick things off this morning, but some of the coldest air of the season will arrive tonight, giving us a window of highly efficient snowmaking conditions as we head into the weekend. We may even see some snowguns running by Friday afternoon as the mercury drops.

Upper Great Northern is open, so you can skip the walkway and ski or ride down to open terrain on North Ridge, but please remember that walking is still required up the Peak Walkway at the end of the day for downloading.

Our nocturnal grooming team was up through the night, applying fresh corduroy to all four open trails, and that includes the eight feature Reason Terrain Park.

Access from K-1 Base Area will be via the K-1 Express Gondola, which will upload from opening until 3:00 p.m. and download until 4:00 p.m. Skiers will travel to the North Ridge area via Upper Great Northern and return to the K-1 Express Gondola for downloading via the Peak Walkway. Upper Rime and Reason close at 3:30 p.m., and the North Ridge Triple will permit uploading until 3:45 p.m., allowing skiers and snowboarders enough time to walk up the walkway and catch the K-1 Express Gondola.

General hours of operation are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Mon-Fri; 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sat and Sun, and last run in the North Ridge area is at 3:30 p.m. every day.

Early season conditions exist, and snowmaking and other on-mountain operations may be in progress throughout the day on open terrain. Skiing and snowboarding are on advanced terrain only; no easier terrain is available at this time.”
