Action gets going at the one minute mark.

Tioga Pass was closed to the public as they continue to clear debris and rockfall from the roadway. The debris ended up on the roadway thanks to the major storm that just passed through California. CalTrans’ over-the-road equipment was not large enough to remove the debris so they used explosives to break up the boulders.

“Mono County – State Route 120 Tioga Pass will remain closed overnight. Rocks continue to fall and crews are working as fast as possible to clear the road. Please take a look at the attached video to see a couple of the rocks that had to be removed today!” – California Transportation District 9 Bishop (October 19th)
