According to Park Record, 41-year-old mountain biker Benjamin Schmutz died on Saturday while biking the Holy Roller flow trail at Deer Valley Resort.
Schmutz was found by a man and his son who were out riding on the trail. They immediately contacted Deer Valley’s bike patrol who arrived within five minutes.
The first responders transported Schmutz off the slopes where he was confirmed dead from blunt force trauma to the head.
Deer Valley’s Holy Roller trail is a new trail just built this season. It’s rated as a beginner trail.
