La Niña is not dead in the water but following NOAA’s recent downgrading, the national weather service has since released an updated forecast to coincide with the ENSO-related models.

The Original Forecast: 2017 Winter Weather Forecast | Long Range Prediction From NOAA

The new long-range forecast includes a emphasis on precipitation falling in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming this winter with the previously favored Mt Baker teetering on the edge of the forecast models. According to the NWS Climate Prediction Facebook Page“There’s a good chance this winter will be colder than last winter across the northern tier of the U.S.”
