A home in a rural community south of Calgary was invaded over the weekend by hungry grizzly bears who were looking to snack on the residents pet ducks.  Generally bears, even grizzlys, will be scared off by car horns, barking dogs and people screaming, but not in this case.

“There was no fear in those bears,” Keith Lang, the father, told CBC News on Sunday. “We were laying on the horn because I don’t want grizzly bears in the yard.”

Finally, through, they did leave, after Lang drove his truck to within 10 feet of the largest bear.

It’s good to keep in mind that bears across North America are looking to pack on the pounds before hibernation season so keep your heads up out there.
