According to DeadSpin, an alleged trash fire began yesterday and resulted in the temporary suspension of last night’s track and field program in addition to leaving ash on field hockey grounds. Luckily, recent reports indicate that rains stopped the fire just short of the 3-mile mountain bike course that is part of the Deodoro section of the olympic village.

Whether or not the fire has compromised the venue has yet to be announced. Officials will be inspecting the venue today.
