In Juneau, Alaska there is a monument to skiing built with more than 250 pairs of alpine skis. The project started back in 2001 as “something to do” but has now grown into a local tourist attraction.

Pat Harmon, the creator of the “The Temple of the Ski”, told the juneauempire.com that, “skiers looking for a spare pair of bindings or skis will often come by hoping to replace their “old-school” pair that finally broke.” Pat said that he is happy to let them “root through his stockpile of hundreds.”
